"Hangman" Adam Page and Matt Hardy vs The Hybrid2
TH2 takes Matt out of the ring to start. Page suplexes Angelico onto Evans. Hardy hits a neckbreaker then Page does a running SSP. Hardy hits a splash mountain on Evans but Angelico is the legal man and kicks him in the back.
Angelico holds up Hardy then Evans double stomps Hardy. Evans does a cartwheel into a back elbow on Hardy then gets hit with a side effect. Page does a nasty standing spinebuster to Evans then hits a hard corner lariat on Angelico. Page hits a fallaway slam on Angelico then dives on Evans. Page suplexes Angelico for 2. Hardy pop up powerbombs Angelico then Evans dives onto Page and Page is supposed to powerbomb him, but kind of drops him.
Evans pushes Hardy into Page and knocks him off the apron. TH2 then does a neckbreaker/backbreaker combo and Jack does a rough looking phoenix splash for 2. Evans is flipped over Hardy for some reason into a double buckshot lariat from Page. Hardy then hits a twist of fate which Angelico sells big for and wins. This was very sloppy with Jack being off and I don't like Hardy and Page beating an established team like TH2.
Hardy says "give it up for Hangman Adam Page". Hardy tells Page he is going to make a lot of money and says he will get 30% of Page's money due to the contract they signed. Page then brought up that he put a different contract in there. Page calls out someone from the legal team to bring a copy and it is the Jacksonville Jaguars mascot. Matt sees the contract that Page signed and it is a contract for them to fight. The contract says if Hardy loses, Page gets all of his earnings for the first quarter in 2021. Hardy said since he is putting something on the line, he wants Page to put his earnings on the line too. Page agrees because he is a total moron then the mascot is revealed to be Isaiah Kassidy. Then he offers TH2 money to beat up Hardy. The Dark Order then save him. Why the heck would Page agree to this? He literally had a sweet deal set up then he changes it. What an idiot. Hardy then ducks a buckshot lariat and leaves. The Dark Order and Page look at each other and the Order leaves as Page poses.
AEW Women's World Championship Eliminator Tournament - US Bracket - Serena Deeb vs Riho
Only in AEW do you have United States brackets with people not from the US and with people who don't compete in the US that much. They announce that there will be more matches Monday.
Not too much happens early. Riho bridges and Serena jumps on her then takes her down by the wrist. Riho gets irish whipped then cartwheels into a cross body. Riho goes for a 619 but gets her legs caught then is catapulted into the bottom rope. We go to picture-in-picture and Deeb gets her knee checked on by the trainer. Riho gets thrown outside during the break and gets stretched over Deeb's back. We come back from break and Riho hits a dragon suplex. They trade shots in the corner and Riho does a satellite headscissors to her.
Serena's knee gives out on a brainbuster and Riho crossbodies her form the top. Deeb rolls with her though and then attacks her knee. Deeb sits her on the middle rope and dragon screws her leg. Deeb does a twisting neckbreaker for 2 and Riho comes back with forearms. Riho does a 619 then double stomps her on the back. Riho hits a nice diving crossbody from the top for 2. They fight on the floor briefly then Riho takes a dragon screw leg whip as she re-etners. Deeb then powerbombs her. Riho northern lights suplexes her. Riho then hits a double foot stomp from the top but nope, only a 2-count. Riho goes for a running knee but Deeb ducks and Riho hits her head on the buckles. They roll up each other until Riho wins it. They did too much here and even though there was a clear story with Deeb's injured leg they chose not to pursue it.
We see Jade and Shaq training...basketball for some reason. Why would you practice basketball stuff for a wrestling match? I could understand if it was drills but they were shooting hoops.
Orange Cassidy with Chuck Taylor vs Luther with Serpentico
Why are we doing this? Chuck gets knocked off the apron then Serpentico dives on him. Luther pump kicks and powerbombs him then rips off his shirt. Luther puts OC's shirt around his neck then swings him around. OC powerbombs Luther off the apron. Serpentico gets in the ring and Chuck hits an awful waffle on him. OC then hits a superman punch and wins it in a nothing, total waste of time match.
Team Taz comes out. Taz said he heard Sting will be calling them out but Taz called Sting out instead. Multiple Team Taz members were missing due to the snow according to Taz. Sting came to the ring and Taz said it was a bad idea. Taz says Sting is useless without the bat then Sting drops the bat. Sting throws his jacket at Cage then punches him. Hook tries to choke Sting with the bat but he fights it off. Cage then hits Sting with a hard powerbomb which I'm surprised Sting took. Sting is laid out and looking at the sky.
Eddie Kingston did a promo with Butcher, Blade and Bunny. He said he requested the match against Archer tonight. He calls Fenix a waste of space and said he wanted his brother, not him. He said Fenix will pay for turning on him. Eddie says Mox is the demon he needs to get rid of most and needs to beat him to do it.
AEW Tag Titles - The Young Bucks (c) vs Santana and Ortiz with The Inner Circle
The Bucks mom and dad were there. Santana blocks an armdrag early then Matt hiptosses his opponents. Ortiz grabs Matt's arm and goes over top of him on the buckles to armdrag him. Kenny, Callis and The Good Brothers are shown watching this in the back. The Bucks double dropkick Ortiz. S&O rolled Nick into a neat backbreaker. The Inner Circle was kicked out even though a rule was made a few weeks ago that said they could only have 1 person down there. We go to picture-in-picture break and when we return Nick hits Ortiz with a superkick. Matt hits a twisting stunner off the top onto Santana and the Bucks do a double team iconoslam to Santana.
Santana does a top rope falcon arrow which of course is only worth 2, then Nick is hit with a neat reverse magic killer type of move. Ortiz puts Nick in a reverse Koji clutch then Matt saves Nick with a top rope elbow on Ortiz. The Bucks do a doomsday device to Santana then double superkick him after a corner powerbomb which Ortiz breaks up. The Bucks miss a BTE trigger then Santana does a back roll into a reverse cutter. S&O hits a powerbomb + blockbuster combo for 2 but Matt breaks the pin up. S&O powerbomb Matt into the crowd next to his family. S&O takes a while to get in and Nick rolls up Ortiz for the win.
The Inner Circle then attacks The Bucks. The Good Brothers, Callis and Omega watch in the back but nobody goes out to help except for Brandon Cutler. Hager slams Cutler on the ramp and the Bucks get put in double submissions. The Good Brothers finally come out and the Inner Circle leaves. Jericho threatens the Bucks' dad and he pushes Jericho.
They did way too much as usual here with poor selling. The Bucks' dad getting involved without any build-up was rushed and the problem with The Bucks' friends not coming out was that the video showed them not coming out. Had they not filmed that it might have created more seeds of doubt as to what was going on.
Cody and Brandy did some stupid gender reveal thing for their baby, like anyone cares. Example #500 of Cody being an egomaniac.
FTR vs Matt and Mike Sydal
Matt hits some kicks early and bridges Dax over the top where Mike double stomps him. The Sydal brothers hit double knees and then Cash hit a 2nd rope release german suplex. This of course does not end the match. FTR keeps control over the break. Matt put Mike on Dax's shoulders then spins him into a hurricanrana. Matt kick combos Dax and Mike moonsaults off the top onto FTR on the floor.
Matt mounts a 2v1 comeback and is powerbombed then dragon suplexed, which Mike breaks the pin on. Tully is not out at ringside for this, not that he ever does anything anyway. Matt double knees FTR fromt the top and Mike botches a top rope twisting splash for 2. Matt gets crotched on the top rope then takes a flapjack into a codebreaker for the FTR win. That german spot was so stupid especially since it was done really early in the match and that ruined this for me.
The AEW doctor (Doc Sampson) enters the ring with a medical kit and FTR takes out his scissors. They seemingly go to cut hair when we get a video by Luchasaurus, where he isn't wearin the mask. Jurassic Express then enters the ring and attacks FTR and beats them up. They ran down next week's show.
Jon Moxley does a promo. He says Eddie has a stick up his @ss and said he will beat up Eddie Kingston as many times as he has to in order to let him know he still cares. He pimps NJPW Strong where he will face Kenta and said he will take back the AEW title.
Lance Archer, Rey Fenix and Jon Moxley vs Eddie Kingston, Butcher and The Blade
Everyone fights to start. Archer gets his head banged off a table and Mox goes into the rails. Blade holds up Mox in a side slam then Butcher does a leg drop on him. Mox hits a neckbreaker on Blade and Archer does a chokeslam suplex. Archer then belly to belly suplexes him. Archer goes to walk the top and Rey walks behind him on the top in a messy spot. They did a picture-in-picture break with Dick Vitale shilling car insurance then spilling gatorade on his head. DICKIE V BABY.
Back from break and Butcher is lighting up Lance with shots. Eddie does some headbutts on Archer then corner spears him. Mox clotheslines Blade over the top and goes with him then Archer crossbodies two opponents. Fenix springboard with Eddie's assistance, kicked Butcher in the head then twisting armdragged Eddie, then did a flip dive onto Blade, then came back in did a cutter to Butcher.
Fenix did a top rope frogsplash for 2 and Eddie exploder suplexed him. Archer hit a hard chest kick to Edide to make him fly then Btucher did a crossbody onto Archer. Eddie and Mox exchange shots then Fenix pounces Eddie. Archer chokeslams Fenix into a dive on B&B then Archer does a cannonball onto everyone off the apron. Mox and Eddie trade strikes and Mox wins with a ddt.
The Good Brothers jump Mox and Kenny challenges Mox to an exploding barbed wire match. I can't imagine how bad that is going to be. Kenny can't sell and has the goofiest expressions in a normal match. On top of that, Mox isn't a good matchup with anyone, yet alone with Kenny. It is a shame such a match that hasn't been done in the US is going to be wasted on this.
Overall thoughts: They did way too much as usual in almost every match. Page agreeing to put his own money up on the line was super stupid and Jade practicing for a wrestling match by shooting basketballs was also stupid.
